Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Siding Installer to join our exterior construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing wall surfaces, measuring and cutting siding materials, and installing exterior cladding to exact specifications. The ideal candidate has experience working at heights, operating power tools safely, and delivering clean, weather-resistant craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Surface Prep:

  • Inspect exterior walls and remove old siding, trim, or damaged sheathing as needed.
  • Install weather-resistive barriers, house wrap, flashing, rigid foam insulation, and starter strips.
  • Measure, cut, and attach siding materials (vinyl, fiber cement, metal, or wood) using nails, screws, or specialized fasteners.
  • Install exterior trim around windows, doors, corners, and soffit/fascia boards for a finished look.
  • Apply caulk and sealant around joints, vents, and edges to prevent moisture penetration.

Site Operations & Safety

  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and layout plans.
  • Erect and work safely on ladders, staging, and pump-jack or pipe scaffolding systems.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure alignment, level lines, proper spacing for material expansion, and weatherproofing.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site by clearing debris and properly storing tools and materials daily.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in exterior siding installation or general carpentry (apprentice-level roles may require less).
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with various siding systems (e.g., lap siding, board and batten, shake, panel systems) and underlying moisture barriers.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using hand and power tools, including circular saws, shears, pneumatic nail guns, chalk lines, levels, and brake presses (aluminum bending).
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50–80 lbs, climb ladders, stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring and cutting to ensure straight lines, flush joints, and minimal material waste.
  • Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to OSHA guidelines, fall protection protocols, and PPE usage.
