The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.Work Schedule: The schedule for this position will be: Monday-Friday 09:00pm-05:30am Mandatory OT based on volume/needs of department. Mandatory Saturday or Sunday rotation every 3-5 weeks depending on staffing needs. Weekend shift is typically 4-8hours.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testingUnpack and route specimens to their respective staging areasAccurately identify and label specimensPack and ship specimens to proper testing facilitiesMeet department activity and production goalsProperly prepare and store excess specimen samplesData entry of patient information in an accurate and timely mannerResolve and document any problem specimensMinimum Qualification:High School Diploma or GED equivalentPreferred Qualification:Current or prior Labcorp experience6 months or more of experience in a lab or specimen processing6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experienceAdditional Job StandardsComfortable handling biological specimensAbility to accurately identify specimensExperience working in a team environmentStrong data entry and organizational skillsHigh level of attention to detailProficient in MS OfficeAbility to lift up to 40lbs.Able to pass a standardized color blindness testBenefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
